Dean Waterman I had heard good things, and read the reviews, but was sorely disappointed when I got the book and started to read. It's all "I", "me", "myself", and every other conceivable word that can give praise to one's self. Also inserted was her view on being treated differently because she was a lesbian, and how she overcame, and how others who are gay and lesbian can too. This is good, and I don't mind it, but that isn't overtly advertised as being a major part of the book. In the end, nothing new here, just how wonderful Ms. Schlichting is, and how fortunate all the companies are to have her in charge.

As a long time student of leadership herself, Schlichting intertwines her life experiences as a female chief executive (currently as CEO of Henry Ford Health System) with lessons from inventor and innovator Ford himself. Given the years she has spent working in Detroit during turbulent times, the juxtaposition is an intriguing one. Under Schlichting, HFHS won the coveted Baldridge Quality Award for performance excellence, with its national recognition for innovation, improvement, and visionary leadership. The seven-year journey her team undertook, from top executives to janitorial staff, is a model of patience, perseverance, and the use of continuous feedback that led HFHS to growth in efficiency, workforce satisfaction, and customer service.

As far as I am concerned though, the Motor City has always been a place of great memories since my childhood. From the Detroit Lions, Meeting Mr. Barry Sanders, Mr. Herman Moore, The Jacksons (remember 1983?) Mosque#1, the auto show, Ford Field, Berverly Hills Cop I, all those places to eat, Mowtown holds a special place for me. No matter where you go there are reminders of the Ford Motor Industry in the form of old buildings, factories, and other structures.While the focus of this work is to discuss leadership reform in America, I found the contents to bring back many wonderful memories of my trips to the Motor City.I believe this work should be a point of reference for all those attempting to rebuild aspects of inner-city life in America. An equally important aspect of "Unconventional Leadership," is the emphasis on diversity in the workforce, which needs to be cited.in light of the year 2016. This beautiful collections of photographs, drawings and some writing presents us with a treasure chest filled with stickers and flowers and songs and brief moments of a youthful lagoon ready to be opened and cherished. This book is important because it brings togeher in print form images that only seem to find an outlet digitally-a book gives it a new dimension and relevance in this time. It is carefully and seemly effortlessly curated and the presentation is crisp, clean and beautiful.

I loved the second book By Amazon Customer I loved the second book, the characters were faced with new challenges and it was gripping how each one handled a situation. I really like action and this story kept me engaged and flipping virtual pages. The detail of the worlds created helped to transport me into the adventure and more than once I found myself so immersed that I was right along side the characters sharing their struggles. The pace of the book is very fast, which suited me well, but it wasn't one dimensional. There are complex characters dealing with love, hate, desire and revenge. My favorite parts are the battle scenes and the author has a mastery of the subject. There is always an awesome twist and I haven't been able to predict an outcome of one of his battles yet, and I often can with other authors. I would recommend this book as a good series to invest your time into. Can't wait for the next one!

About the Author Brian K. Morris (that's me!) realized he wanted to be a writer in seventh grade when it occurred to him that properly connected words had power over an audience. The following decades were spent convincing others of his sincerity. Never wanting to be "that guy who wrote (fill in the blank)," I wanted to be that guy who wrote EVERYTHING. I've written ads for print / radio / TV, business plans, pre-burial arrangement contracts, website copy, small press comic books, short stories, pop culture articles, interviews, audio adventure scripts, newsletters, promotions, anything that sounded interesting. I've had my work published in magazines such as BACK ISSUE Magazine, Hogan's Alley, Knights of the Dinner Table, WHOtopia, The Jack Kirby Collector, and many other magazines in varying degrees of obscurity. In addition, my work has been seen in The Krypton Companion (where I interviewed some of artist Curt Swan's inkers) and a couple of short stories in the With Great Power anthology (a series of stories following a copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 from owner to owner). Also, I've had several short plays produced. My first play received an award, I'm delighted to say. I'm moving into new directions for my writing in my Freelance Words imprint as well as more stories in the Kindle Worlds universes. Please join me. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent Book! By Kim Perry I may be a little biased, but this is a really good read! It has a bit of a comic book feel to it, but that's part of it's charm. If you like mythology based fiction, you'll LOVE Vulcana!

By Kim Lockman 'Vulcana: Rebirth of the Champion', is an incredibly well written, imaginative tale that entertains from start to finish. For those of you who love superheroes, this story will be a double delight. It's a refreshingly original take on a familiar genre and I can't wait for the next installment in the series..... Highly recommended!

Beautiful huge artbook By Parka [[VIDEOID:584736cf2187f48aa1d0d5709ec60651]]Here's another wonderful artbook put out by Blizzard Entertainment and publisher Insight Editions.The Art of World of Warcraft is a huge 224-page hardcover. The cover has a smooth almost velvet treatment with glossy prints of the title and cover art. The binding is great.The first thing I want to point out is there is actually another book with the same title that was published in 2005 by BradyGames. I'll not be comparing this book against the previous one because I don't have that book.This new artbook is a collection of illustrations and concept art for the game.The games included are World of Warcraft (2004), The Burning Crusade (2007), Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm (2010), Mist of Pandaria (2012) and Warlords of Draenor (2014).So we have six games featured in this 224-page hardcover. I do feel that they could have included more pages, especially so when The Art of Blizzard Entertainment has 376 pages. And there have been game specific artbooks such as The Cinematic Art of World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King (154 pages) and the one that came in the collector's edition for Mists of Pandaria (208 pages).And because there has been other artbooks that feature WOW art before, some of those artworks are duplicated in this book. It's not a big issue because there are a lot of new artworks included too.What I like about the book is it's huge. The artworks look wonderful printed in high resolution on the huge pages. Some of the artworks spread across two pages. Others take a whole page by themselves. It's satisfying to look at the huge reproduction of detailed coloured illustrations. The colours came out really well.The artworks themselves are beautiful to begin with. The WOW style of art is very recognisable. Most artworks are fully coloured with the occasional sketches. There's a good mixture of character and environment art. The captions are printed in classy gold fonts against black. The commentary are from Bill Petras, Samwise Didier and Chris Robinson and they are interesting to read. However, not all artworks have captions and the last 20 over pages are devoid of any captions.This is a fantastic video game art companion.Highly recommended to all fans of WOW.(See more pictures of the book on my blog. 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. From Rough Concepts to Finished Works - From Vanilla to Draenor By Ian This is exactly what "The Art of Blizzard" left me wanting. Over 200 pages of beautiful Drawings and Paintings from Blizzard's best ranging from a myriad of rough concepts to fully rendered illustrations - from Vanilla to Draenor. A lot of the content is in other books, like the monolith, "The Art of Blizzard." The majority of the content exclusive to this book seems to be in the form of Environment Concept Paintings and, obviously, the art of "Warlords of Draenor." As an aspiring artist inspired by Blizzard for well over half of my life, I must say that I am happy with the high quality of this product and the content within it. I will cherish it, share it and, most importantly, study it!
