It is a very exciting, hard hitting and a fast read that continues the characters from his second book "Assassins Within". The plot develops very quickly and grabs the reader into a realistic terrorist plot against the United States. Lynch continues to write his novels as a warning to everyone of a very possible, likely probable, and realistic (successful) terrorist activity against the free world. He doesn't hide his characters (heroes or villains) in political correctness. He paints the world as it is, a very dangerous place. He ability to portray the terrorist in a true light is a strong point that military and veterans appreciate. It is a great book for a fast read that leaves the reader convinced that the plot is realistic and that fighting Islam Terrorism will not be successful unless we understand. political correctness does not exist in the Koran. Chief Lynch continues not to pull his punches. His blunt novel should be a warning to us all. It is only a matter of time until the next 9/11. The Islamic Terrorist are serious, we are not.Lest we forget - Semper Fi!

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. From "The Horror Fiction Review" By Christine A secret project to engineer super-mutant pig people? Moral conflicts blurring the lines between what constitutes cannibalism, bestiality, and both? Working through the Mad Scientist checklist of no-nos, creating something more powerful/intelligent than us, thinking things won’t get out of control, even experimenting on oneself?Even had I not been privileged to experience several of the author’s stellar performances at various convention Gross-Outs, Showdowns and such, I would have been all over this book. With what I already knew of her talents, I expected nothing less than brilliance from the phenomenal Q … and she did not disappoint. The story begins with a difficult birthing, a sow’s litter of unusual offspring. Some are stillborn, others don’t live more than a few minutes, and it’s looking bad for the project. But, finally, the miracle twins are born. Unfortunately – for the scientists and their funding backers – disaster soon wipes out most of the notes and data, and the results might be impossible to replicate. The siblings prove to be uncannily advanced for their age, maturing rapidly, demonstrating incredible intelligence and understanding. Soon, Gevu, the male, shows signs of outpacing his sister Binah in size and aggression. He also has quite the non-vegetarian appetite. Binah, however, develops early in other ways … ways that take an awkward turn with her mating options somewhat limited. There are, of course, various factions at work behind the scenes. Some have medical motives, some have even more sinister ones, secrets are being kept on all sides, and then there’s those who are just out to get a profit. What follows is a headlong rush of thrills and chills, conspiracies, betrayals, plots and counter-plots … plus truckloads of sex and violence, and looming doomsday triple-threats.If I have any quibbles with this book, it’s that the romance storyline seems a little neglected; I was waiting for some awkward reactions, conversations or confrontations following certain key scenes, and felt kind of let down when they didn’t exactly pan out.Aside from that, though? The characters are wildly fun, believable, sympathetic and/or despicable. The writing is wildly skilled and inventive, with humor and horror and some hard-hitting uncomfortable questions about what it means to be human.

The author calls it biohorror and maybe it really does belong in a class all it's own. It's something of a dark science fiction but so enmeshed with today's experimental technologies as to be frighteningly believable.I might never have read this book were it not recommended to me by a friend, so I have been continuously surprised and pleased by how much the story pulled me in. I was unable to put it down. However the best thing about this book is that Ms. Abuttu makes you care about the most horrific characters. You find yourself rooting for someone who, two chapters ago, you hated. There were also a few times when I really liked a character, but later on, not so much. For me that's one hallmark of an excellent writer. After all there are likeable and less likable parts in all of us.I definitely recommend this book. No matter what you think it is going into it, I promise you, it's more.

By Joseph Borrelli One part Animal Farm, one part Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and one part vegan punk-rock apocalypse, World Horror Con's bizarro fiction gross out contest winner Querus Abbuttu's Sapien Farm is a terrifying achievement in bizarro horror lit. Check out this talented new writer's fantastic first book.

Ludlum's Early Work By Adam Shah After Robert Ludlum passed away, I decided to read several of his books, having loved The Bourne Identity when I read it several years ago, but having stopped reading his books when The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum disappointed. I started with The Holcroft Covenant, reported to be one of the classics, which I really enjoyed. Then I read the final book he wrote, The Prometheus Deception, which I enjoyed more than most. This year, I decided to go back to his early books. I found the second book he ever wrote, The Osterman Weekend, in a used bookstore. The book tells the story of John Tanner, a TV news executive who is summoned to Washington one day and told by a CIA operative that one or more of his best friends, the Ostermans, the Cardones and the Tremaynes is a traitor. They are all gathering for the weekend at Tanner's house in suburban New Jersey and Tanner's job is to get the traitors to reveal themselves so the CIA can swoop in and deal with them.On its own, the book is probably worth three stars. It is a quick and easy read, the suspense grows and the reader has no idea where the plot will lead although double-crosses seem likely. However, until the last few chapters, it doesn't really grip you. However, the book shows flashes of the greatness Ludlum achieved later. An ordinary person is thrown into extraordinary circumstances and must get by on his own wits. Ludlum is a genius at making the ordinary person seem believable and scared and yet be the hero who saved the world. The action in the last few chapters is a foreshadowing of the wall-to-wall action that will be Ludlum's trademark in other books. The insight this gives the reader into Ludlum's evolution as a writer was worth an extra star to me.

11 of 12 people found the following review helpful. Best of the lot - Perfect By Avid Reader This is the first Ludlum book I ever read and it still remains my favorite. For sheet storytelling, suspense and convoluted plot resolution, it remains supreme. It is characterization that drives this book - much more so than the movie - and particularly the interplay among the various guests. This is vintage Ludlum before he became Ludzilla, the author of sagas of immeasurable length. This is also the typical formula that Ludlum uses in his best books - a lone guy gets involved in nefarious activities involving the government and both people and events are not what they seem. The moment when he awaits the arrival of the agent, when the agent walks up and we all hold our breath - the revelation is simply stunning! This is a classic.

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. An intriguing, suspenseful weekend. By sporkdude Usually, being kept in the dark by a book is a bad thing. This usually results in a muddled, incomprehensible mess. Not in this case. He successfully pulls off the greatest act of intrigue ever, by intentionally leaving the reader as clueless as the main character. The main character is brought to Washington under false pretenses to discover that his weekend party with three other couple may be a meeting of some Omega agents. The only problem is, no one knows who is and who isn't part of Omega. Now the main character has got to lead a double life, protect his family against Omega, figure out who are his true friends, and worry about the CIA protection. While the middle of the book feels kind of jumbled, and beginning of the book is slightly dull, the book is immensely readable and fun. Definitely not an action packed book (not until the end at least), Ludlum instead brings the low-key mundane trivialities of life into a new light. Does a particular sentence reveal something about his or her loyalties, does weary a gaudy piece of jewelry mean your connected with an organization? Finding out the truth behind everything becomes harder and more alluring than ever. All in all, I would recommend this quick page turner.

Terrible Typesetting and Messy Production By Peter323 This is a classic book, but this particular edition looks like it was printed on-demand by someone who has no familiarity with the work and is just putting this out there to grab orders for a public domain book. The type-setting is awful - like someone just clicked "print" on a pdf of the text. The cover art is of a Union Army! From a book-lover's perspective, this printing is a mess. I'm throwing it in the trash and going somewhere to find a hardback edition.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Hard to end such a great series! Loved it! By kittyallen155 at gmail com Book three in an epic series . You continue with Evan and Jess on their journey to the Garden of Eden to save it. I agree with another reviewer that I would have liked the option to buy all the books together. You end up reading them all anyway they are so good. The 3rd book moves just as fast as the others. Great action scenes and lots of adventure. Typical sadness ensued for me reading the last book in a great series. Going to miss the adventure Would be great if the author came out with more in this series. Hard to end something so great.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great begining with great detail and story line, but felt cheated at the end - still a good read. By Amazon Customer Liked this series till the last book, I felt K.T. held back on some graphic details in the last book. Details helped in seeing the story unfold and when we finally got to Eden there was some beauty and detail of the place I was expecting never got. Don't get me wrong I still like the story line but felt cheated on details, unlike the two previous book leading up to the main event. Is there room for more in this series... I really don't see a future, and I love time travel romances... this one let me down, Sorry K.T.

The characters were well constructed and I felt there were plenty of undercurrents that could be tied to today’s political landscape. I found myself thinking of Monty Python and Mel Brooks while reading this and enjoyed the humor of it all as well.

Waddington It's not the plot that's so funny so much as the actual conversations between the characters, and/or their individual thoughts! If you have read Douglas Adams' "Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy" you will have a pretty good idea as to this author's style. Granted, there is an awful lot of killing, but it's not done in an overtly gruesome fashion, so that parents shouldn't have any qualms letting their older children read this delightful book.

It is a post-apocalyptic comedy. I had never thought about the 2 going together, but the author puts them together very well. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys Dystopian literature or Comedies.
