About the Author Francesco Bonami is a curator, writer and critic. Excellent look at another of LA's rich art offerings By Blue in Washington An oversized, 460-page coffee table publication with first rate reproductions of the paintings and other works amassed by long time art patrons and collectors Eli and Edythe Broad. Largely 20th and 21st Century art now housed in the new Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles (culture complex on Bunker Hill). This is an excellent cross section of the major artists of the period, with Jeff Koons, Cy Twombly, Damien Hurst, and Cindy Sherman among those featured. The rather massive book also contains a goodly number of commentaries by major art critics and scholars.This is the initial and principal "house" publication of The Broad Museum, which opened recently in LA and received as much comment about the design of the building as about the quality of the collection. Anyone interested in the former will have to look elsewhere for details about that as this book is dedicated entirely to the works contained therein.
