Doctor Mars By Amazon Customer I have received the copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.I really enjoyed this fast paced read set in the future. The chapters are quite short so it makes the story flow really nicely. I was so quickly finished with it and wanting more.I'll definitely want to read to sequel and see what will happen next.As well I'm glad I've found a new author to pay attention at.Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read this book Mr Uner.

Doctor Mars: Mindcop Dossiers, Book 1, is a short sci-fi crime story set on future Mars, centering on a mutant woman with the ability to ‘time shift’. This particular type of mental telepathy gives her a helpful and interesting edge in catching the bad guys.First, I have to say that I love the protagonist’s name: Liberty Rise. It just rolls off the tongue and comes with all sorts of badass connotations. With a name like that, Liberty Rise is screaming for her own video game.Liberty works as a Mindcop for the Mars Colonial Police Force. When she and her blatantly prejudice partner are called in to solve a murder, they uncover a scheme involving genetic experiments and, of course, the diabolical Dr. Mars.If you’re looking for an entertaining, fast-paced read with lots of action, a touch of humor and romance, an interesting sci-fi plot, and a kick-ass heroine—this is the story for you. Doctor Mars is clearly an introduction of more to come, and I enjoyed learning about Liberty and the interesting future the author created. There are definitely some interesting characters in this series. Because of this, I wanted more background and detail, more insight to better understand their motives. Sometimes I felt like this was a prequel, and by not having read the books that came before, I was missing the bigger picture. It’s not, and I wasn’t, but I couldn’t shake the feeling. Maybe that comes from the bulk of my reads being more of the epic variety, which would make my need for more depth more of a personal preference. Either way, I hope some of these areas are explored more in the books that follow.Well written and creative, I recommend this to sci-fi fans looking for a quick fix. I will be picking up the next in the series and am interested in checking out more of this author’s work. And when that Liberty Rise video game comes out, I’ll be first in line!

Good for first time sci-fi & fantasy readers By amazon143er Doctor Mars is a perfect introduction and length to the sci-fi/fantasy genre and/or author if you are unfamiliar. This was a well written 42 page novella with enough descriptive scenes to pack a punch.The story jumps right in with an intriguing experimental procedure and takes off from there. I was blown away at layer on top of layer the author was able to build in such a short story keeping me engaged along the way. I loved how the use of telepathy was utilized in this futuristic story. The characters and their relationship to one another were fascinating too. Jeff & Slow Fly…. WTH! On a romantic note, the affection between Lib & Cal is briefly showcased but leaves a lasting impression.The only negative if you can call it that, is the book ends in a way where there could be a sequel, but no indication is given if one is in the works. I sure hope there is. I would love to read more on a Lib/Slow Fly & Cal of course.Doctor Mars is a good first time read for anymore who wants to be introduced to a sci-fi/fantasy story with crime and a romantic attraction that is secondary to the storyline.***I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review***
