He incorporates his past experiences to great effect and provides a series of strong and interesting settings. The central character is well drawn, having enough "fatal flaws" in the Greek dramatic tradition to add to the novel's tension. This is an enjoyable read and keeps the pace going.- Fabulous. Very enjoyable *thriller* without being too technical for us non-techy peeps. Great, strong female lead with weedy yet likeable male foil. Ideal for holiday reading on the beach, or curled up in front of an open fire. The author's knowledge shines through, yet does not patronise the reader in any way. I loved learning bits and bobs without feeling I needed a dictionary! I particularly enjoyed the way the 'reveals' were staggered throughout the book at satisfying intervals. Humour throughout provokes the odd chuckle as the tension builds! FABULOUS teaser at the end to whet the appetite and yet I was still very satisfied with the finale. So are you going to buy this book? Ack!- A fun and adventurous novel that takes you on a political journey with likeable characters that you root for right until the end. Good twists and turns and a great foundation of knowledge showing that the author has clearly has a depth of experience in this area. - Brilliant story of intrigue which rattles along at a cracking pace. This real page-turner benefits from great, strong female characters and has obviously been well researched.- This thriller is begging to be made into a film. The locations alone would be stunning. It is a totally gripping read from a writer who knows what he is about in terms of the content.
About the Author Roland Ladley draws upon twenty five years military service, including complex tours of Bosnia, Afghanistan and Sierra Leone, to bring realism to his thriller writing. Subsequent work as a teacher enables him to communicate lucidly to a wide audience, and two grown up daughters ensures he can laugh at himself and find comic moments in his writing when the tension is at its greatest. Now a full time writer based in Bristol, UK, he lives an itinerant lifestyle with his wife in their motorhome, posting a daily blog under the title of 'The Wanderlings' and penning his second Sam Green novel.
