From his family's vast archives―a revelatory new pictorial life of the greatest entertainer of the twentieth century

On the centennial of his birth, Sinatra 100―with the participation of his three children―is an intimate and dramatic visual portrait of Frank Sinatra, revealing many of the previously unseen moments in a remarkable life. Of course, Sinatra’s legacy speaks for itself. An entertainer of mesmerizing talent, charisma, and style, he is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, and Academy Award-winning actor, and a cultural icon. From inciting bobby-soxer riots and achieving teen idol status in the 1940s to the incredible recording career, the film career, the Rat Pack and Las Vegas, Sinatra 100 has the unseen photographs (and the iconic ones) as well as a rare trove of memorabilia and ephemera―over half of it never before published. With a majority of the text based on unpublished personal interviews and conversations with Frank Sinatra and his friends, family, and colleagues, Sinatra 100 unparalleled in its scope and depth. It’s the ultimate Sinatra gift, both for the fans who think they’ve seen it all and those just discovering this inimitable artist. 400+ illustrations in color and black-and-white

By Steve Ramm Somehow this book called out for a CD of Sinatra performances which could be inserted in the back cover but, after I thought about it, I realized that most folks who will buy this book will already own LOTS of Sinatra recordings, that it’s not necessary. This book is aimed at the Sinatra fan, not someone who knows little about him. There are 288 pages in the (approx.) 11’x14” volume and maybe a dozen have essay text. The rest of the pages are filled with over 400 images in color and black and white. The book is divided into 3 sections: The Voice (1915-1952), Chairman of the Board (1953-1972) and Ol’ Blue Eyes (1973-1998). Each section has an essay by compiler Charles Pignone Pignone is a friend of the Sinatra family and produced the interesting “Sinatra Treasures” book a few years back. He is not a biographer; he is a compiler of photos and memorabilia. With full cooperation of the Sinatra children, (Nancy, Tina and Frank Jr.- each of who gets their own “Afterward” ), photos that have not been published before are included here. There are brief captions to all of them (printed in miniscule typeface so as not to distract from the larger images.).Though the book has only 288 pages, the paper it is printed on is so heavy that the book weighs in at exactly 6 pounds . It is bound with a heavy vinyl dustjacket. This book has “Coffee Table Bo9ok” written all over it. But, unlike many similar art books, the list price is reasonable. This book will be a no-brainer holiday gift for Sinatra fans. And, honestly, you’ll save your back by having it shipped direct to the recipient. It really is HEAVY!I hope you found this review both informative and helpful.Steve Ramm“Anything Phonographic”

Mock With all of the VERY high priced items being sold to celebrate Mr. S's centennial, this one is THE HIGHLIGHT! It is a BIG BOOK weighing in around 6 pounds, chuck-full of beautiful photos (many never seen before by this FS collector of nearly 50 years). The dialogue accompanying them is well written and accurate. (That is something to be said in these days of very inaccurate information in these celebratory books released by Time-Life and the like). This book proudly sits on my ottoman ready for easy perusal as I spend the remainder of the year celebrating the centennial of the greatest entertainer the 20th century produced! BUY THIS BOOK WITH CONFIDENCE and be shocked at the value of it when you first view it.
