A Quick Read By Jay Pomerantz I gave this book 4 stars, mostly for it's plot and what it might be if fleshed out into a complete book instead of just a 50 page outline. The story is reminiscent of the bible's Job, but with a modern nautical theme. Despite various misfortunes, the protagonist remains upbeat and ready for the next adventure. That is an inspiring message, but the characters need fleshing out. It would be nice to know more about their inner lives and what they are feeling.

A very amusing and rather short life story of a want-to-be sailor aspiring to climb up the social ladder and become famous. His accidents remind me of my own. I loved the irony and the psychology in this book. The struggle to climb the ladder, falling, failing, and succeeding is a funny life lesson for us all. Great reading. Never heard of the author. But will look for more from Berg
