By Linda Eason Lewis When I'm reading a really good book I become so engrossed in the story, the characters, the time period and the world in which the author depicts, that I feel I'm transported to another place and time. This is the very reason I began reading for pleasure as a child, so I could explore the world and have wild crazy exciting adventures from the comfort of my favorite chair. With that being said, I have to say, while reading this story I was transported back to my hometown in which I grew up. So much so that I felt as if I needed to connect with my friends and family to check up on them because of the events happening within the pages of this book. I actually checked in on the local news station on my social media to see if there was breaking news in Cedarville. Crazy huh?Roger L. Blakely Jr. has done it again! He has created a fast-paced, action packed adventure that made me want to be right there in the midst of these brave wonderful hero's. I felt compassion and respect for the many veterans in the nursing home, and I was humbled by the strength and bravery of all the officers and military persons depicted in this story. I laughed, I cried and at the very end (without any spoilers) I cried again...and even got mad. In my eyes, if I feel that I connect so totally with a character, event, or time period, that it becomes real for me then I know I've just read an awesome book. I actually wanted some of those pastries from Schuler's!!! Thanks Roger for allowing me to serve Artie and his friends in the steakhouse scene....it was my pleasure.

By Sandee Mc Laughlin CW4 Roger Blakely keeps the excitement going from page 1 to the very end of the book! Once one starts reading - just long to stay with it and see what will be happening next. Never a dull moment as he takes you to various times and places while keeping your interest peaked. My living in the area of Cedarville, New Carlisle, and Springfield only added to my pleasure as it was so real to me. His sense of humor and choice of names for some of the characters adds to the delight. His writing is a fast read because he does NOT bog one down with boring info, but does explain enough detail that helps "flesh out" the characters and locations. Lots of action - wish he wrote as quickly as one is able to read - waiting a year for the next writing is not fun!
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. the last adventure of Artemus Newton By Topaze I looked forward to Artemus's last adventures and it was an explosion of surprises!We find our favorite hero but also Megan and Jack Rigger, a nice couple which have to face very dangerous people. Danger is everywhere and we are worried for them.I cannot reveal the end but once more Roger shows us his talent of storyteller and captivates us up to the end.I was very touched by certain chapters...Artie you are going to miss me.You want to know more?READ THE ULTIMATE ARTIE'S ADVENTURE!!!!Thank you Roger
