About the Author Thomas Pavitte, a graphic designer and experimental artist, uses simple techniques to create highly complex pieces. He set an unofficial record for the most complex dot-to-dot drawing in 2011 with his version of the 6,239-dot Mona Lisa. He lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.

49 of 49 people found the following review helpful. This book is an awesome twist on the Color By Number concept. By LMM This book is an awesome twist on the Color By Number concept. Pictures have numbers between 1 and 5, along with blank circles. You are not given the colors to use, but choose your own five colors, with 1 being the darkest and 5 the lightest. Because the picture is composed of circles, unless you peek in the back, you don't know what the picture will be. I recommend not peeking so your color choices aren't influenced. I think it makes the end result more interesting and unique. I'm definitely buying the other Querkles book!
12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Fun, but... By Cooper's Mom I purchased this book because I love to color with Bic Markits and Sharpie felt pens in adult coloring books. This format is different in the way the picture is formed. I have used inexpensive colored pencils, the aforementioned pens, and Crayon pens. None of these have proved to be successful or fun to use with this type of format. There are teeny tiny spaces to fill in and huge spaces to fill in. The Bics and Sharpie fine points are just too small for the larger spaces. The pencils would probably work better if they were the $100 type, but I can't afford those. The Crayon felt pens leave blotches of color and are not good for tight spaces at all. Therefore, I am shelving this book until I can find a medium to use that I like. I really like the book and the concept. It is different and creative. It is nothing like the other adult coloring books that I own. Also, you only use 5 colors for each page ranging in color from dark to light per instructions in the booklet.
